Old Town La Verne Specific Plan

The Arroyo Group worked with City staff and an involved Stakeholders Advisory Committee to prepare La Verne for growth and connection to the greater Los Angeles region while retaining its historic identity. The Arroyo Group first supported the City with a study to identify the best possible locations for a new station along the Metro Gold (A) Line Extension. We then prepared a Specific Plan which enables new growth at the University of La Verne and surrounding the new Metro station, while connecting these areas through improved streetscapes and bikeways to a preserved and enhanced Old Town. Sustainability and open space were a major focus of the Plan, which meets LEED-ND standards.

The Specific Plan has led to the revitalization of Old Town La Verne with new restaurants, cafes, bars and student housing. Streetscape improvements have been constructed connecting Old Town to the new Metro station, and the City has adopted an Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District which will provide funding for many of the public improvements identified in the Plan.
