The Plan

The Arroyo Group collaborated with developer KBK Enterprises and the City of Compton to create a Specific Plan for a high-density, mixed-use development on two blocks of City-owned land. The project includes nearly 300 residential units, a 40,000-square-foot Innovation Hub designed to accelerate the careers of Compton’s next generation of creative talent, 10,000 square feet of retail space, a public plaza, and public parking. Preparing the Specific Plan required extensive coordination with environmental, traffic, and civil engineering subconsultants and was completed on an expedited timeline to help revitalize Downtown Compton. Additionally, the project secured a $21 million AHSC grant—an application to which we made significant contributions—to implement the “Compton Walk” street redesign envisioned in the Compton Station Specific Plan project.
